WINTER’S ON ITS WAY. WHAT’S NEW IN LES TROIS VALLEES?

With winter on its way, here’s what’s new for the world’s largest ski area.

L’Alpinium, the new base station in Courchevel Le Praz

In our home base of Le Praz the snow front has been completely reconfigured with a new €27 million multi-service building, named ‘L’Alpinium.’ This features an all new 10 seater gondola as well as an indoor car park, welcome area, lift pass ticket office, ski lockers, and a play area for children.

New ski lifts

In addition to the new Le Praz gondola, which also has a new top station just below the Croisette in Courchevel 1850, the Saint Martin 1 gondola has been upgraded to increase capacity by 30% and there is a new 4 seat chairlift, Les Grandes Combes, linking Courchevel Village with Courchevel 1850.

New ski runs

2 new red runs, Gypaete and Daguet, open up access to formerly off piste only lines in the Roc de Fer area of Meribel.

In Courchevel, the Creux Noirs sector in now a dedicated Freeride area. Access to the black and red runs, which will be kept safe but not groomed, will require touring skis or a hike.

New ski guiding in Brides-Les-Bains

Brides-Les-Bains have teamed up with ESF Meribel to offer guided tours of the whole ski area every Sunday to help guests get their bearings and show off hidden gems. Book your spot at the Brides-Les-Bains tourist office on Saturday before 5.30pm.

New food and drink spots

Jack’s Bar returns to Meribel this season in a new location near the Parc Olympique. Val Thorens welcomes ‘Red Square,’ an organic delicatessen, ‘Galerie Peclet’s’, a pancake house and ‘Wild & Savage’ a bar and streetwear store.

A new 4 Star Ski in/Ski out Hotel in Courchevel

Courchevel has a new 4 star ski in/ski out hotel, L’Ecrin Blanc located between Courchevel Moriond and Courchevel Village. As well as a dedicated chair lift and a new piste to the front door, residents will also have inclusive access to Aquamotion.
